Sophie Nitoslawski

5G green infrastructure sensors smart environments urban forests

Sophie Nitoslawski is an urban forestry researcher at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Her research addresses intersections between urban forest management , smart cities, and digital technologies . Urban Data Lab

The Urban Data Lab at UBC provides open-access sustainability data relating to UBC's buildings, transportation, and natural assets to researchers, policymakers and operational staff. The 5G Smart Campus project carried out by a team of researchers at UBC in partnership with Rogers Communications is testing the potential of a 5G-connected low-cost sensor network for monitoring trees on the UBC campus, with the aim of improving natural asset management in urban and smart city environments.
